Boys Soccer opened the season with a decisive and commanding 6-0 win over 4A pre-season foe Ridgeline. Ridgeline traveled from Cache Valley to play the Cavemen.
Ben Sharp opened the scoring for American Fork, followed by a solo run by Jack Cardwell. American Fork took a 2-0 lead into half, which they built on early in the second half. Aaron Jolley would add a third from a header on a corner kick, and Dillon Childs finished a fourth after pulling the goalkeeper out of position.
Aydin Rasmussen would notch a goal inside the penalty area with a late penalty kick by Jack Cardwell being converted, giving American Fork the 6-0 win.
JV fell behind early 0-2 to Ridgeline, but fought back to a tight 2-3 loss. Jordan Nixon and Landon Waldvogel scored for American Fork. AF dominated possessions and the chances, but could not find the net.
Both teams play Uintah on Monday night at American Fork High School.
