The American Fork sophomore boys battled to defeat Skyridge by 4 points.
The Cavemen started off strong, hitting 4 three point shots in the opening quarter. Jaxon Durrant had a fast break dunk in the 2nd quarter and the Cavemen led 43-34 at halftime.
Skyridge outscored the Cavemen 30-25 in the second half, and took a 58-57 lead with 3 minutes left in the game. The Cavemen’s 25 second half points was their lowest second half total this season.
JR Turley led the Cavemen with 16 points, and was a perfect 9/9 from the line. Freshman Tiger Cuff added 15 points and freshman Jared Shepherd scored 11. The Cavemen shot 92% from the free throw line, making 11/12.
The sophomore team record improves to 18-0.
